People treat Uber Technologies as a San Francisco mobility house that always printed UBER after a finished New York book.
The letters arrived as a cash IPO that opened below the offer price.
An Uber press release dated 9 May 2019 records the pricing of 180,000,000 common shares at 45.00 dollars per share in 2019 currency, with trading expected to begin on the New York Stock Exchange on 10 May 2019 under the symbol UBER.
The same release records that underwriters received a 30-day option to buy up to 27,000,000 additional shares from selling stockholders, and that Uber would receive no proceeds from those sales.
Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and BofA Merrill Lynch were named as lead book-running managers.
CNBC's first-day report records that the shares opened at 42 dollars and closed at 41.57 dollars on 10 May 2019, down 7.6 percent from the offer price.
The New York Times the same week recorded an IPO valuation of about 82.4 billion dollars in 2019 currency on a fully diluted basis.
The mechanism of 10 May 2019 is a primary New York listing of a ride-hailing operator, not a ticker inherited from a predecessor.
The pin is the Broad Street facade of the Exchange, where UBER first printed. Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
