People treat Leidos as a Reston technology house that always printed LDOS after a finished New York book.
The 2013 issuer was Leidos Holdings, Inc., the renamed successor to SAIC, Inc. after that company spun off its technical-services business.
SAIC common stock had printed SAI on the New York Stock Exchange.
The board set the distribution for after the close on 27 September 2013.
Holders of record on 19 September 2013 received one share of the new Science Applications International Corporation for every seven SAIC shares.
The parent then took a one-for-four reverse split and changed its name to Leidos, a clipping of kaleidoscope.
A company release stated that regular-way trading in Leidos would begin on 30 September 2013 under LDOS, and that the spun company would open the same morning under SAIC.
The New York Stock Exchange marked the day as Leidos's first session under the new letters.
The letters LDOS still open on the New York Stock Exchange.
The mechanism is a 2013 split listing that retired SAI and opened two books rather than a cash initial public offering.
The pin is the public Broad Street facade of the 1903 New York Stock Exchange building, the present street marker for the tape that prints LDOS.
Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
