Finance History|11 Wall Street — A Neenah Paper Book That Printed KMB

People treat Kimberly-Clark as a Dallas household-products house that always printed KMB after a finished New York book.
The 1929 issuer was Kimberly-Clark, a Wisconsin paper firm founded in Neenah in 1872 that had remained closely held for fifty-seven years.
The company's own later account dates the first New York Stock Exchange listing of its common stock to 8 May 1929.
Market-data services commonly start a continuous KMB series on 9 May 1929, the next session after that company date.
The letters on the tape were KMB from the start of the listed book.
Those letters stayed KMB through later splits and through the 1995 combination with Scott Paper.
On 19 May 2025 the company notified the Exchange that it would withdraw the principal listing and move the same letters to the Nasdaq Global Select Market, with Nasdaq trading expected to begin 30 May 2025.
The letters KMB still open on Nasdaq.
The mechanism is a 1929 industrial listing that kept one ticker across a century of paper, tissue, and later exchange-house changes.
The pin is the Broad Street facade of the Exchange on the morning the Neenah book opened.
Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
