People treat Keysight as a Santa Rosa measurement house that always printed KEYS after a finished New York book.
The 2014 issuer was Keysight Technologies, Inc., formed to hold Agilent Technologies' electronic-measurement business.
Keysight's own 3 November 2014 notice said the separation from Agilent closed on 1 November 2014 through a distribution of all outstanding Keysight common stock.
Agilent shareholders of record at the close on 22 October 2014 received one Keysight common share for every two Agilent common shares.
The same notice said about 167.5 million Keysight shares were distributed on 1 November 2014 and that regular-way trading on the New York Stock Exchange under KEYS would begin on 3 November 2014.
Agilent kept trading on this exchange under A.
The letters KEYS still open on this exchange.
The mechanism is a parent distribution of a whole subsidiary book, intended as tax-free, so a new ticker opens without a cash IPO.
The pin is the Broad Street facade of the Exchange on the morning the measurement book printed KEYS.
Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
