People treat Expeditors as a New York industrial that always printed EXPD after a finished air and ocean book.
The November 2023 issuer was Expeditors International of Washington, Inc., incorporated in Washington in 1979 and listed on Nasdaq as EXPD since 1984.
The company does not own the aircraft or the ships. It sells forwarding, customs brokerage, and door-to-door control over other people's hulls.
On 9 November 2023 it announced a listing transfer. Common stock would keep the letters EXPD. It would leave the Nasdaq tape after the close on 20 November 2023 and open on the New York Stock Exchange on 21 November 2023.
The first public year on Nasdaq had produced more than 50 million dollars in 1984 gross revenues and 2.1 million dollars in net earnings, with 12 offices and 161 employees.
The mechanism is a venue change, not a new issue. No cash was raised. The same Washington corporation moved the print from an electronic dealer market to the Exchange floor building.
The pin is the Broad Street facade of the Exchange on the morning the New York tape opened. Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
