People treat Synopsys as a Sunnyvale design-automation house that always printed SNPS after a finished Nasdaq book.
The first cash offering is dated.
A UPI dispatch dated 26 February 1992 records that Synopsys completed a 2,000,000-share offering at 18 dollars a share in 1992 currency, of which 1,550,000 shares came from the company and 450,000 from selling stockholders.
The same dispatch records that the shares closed at 31.50 dollars on the first trading day.
The present tape is SNPS on the Nasdaq Global Select Market, as the company's Form 10-K still files it.
The mechanism is a priced cash initial public offering of a logic-synthesis book, not a New York floor listing.
The pin is the public Times Square facade of Nasdaq MarketSite, the street marker used for the SNPS tape.
Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
