People treat IBM as an Armonk campus that always printed IBM after a finished computer book.
The February 1924 issuer was still the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company, a New York-listed holding company assembled in 1911.
On 13 February 1924 Thomas J. Watson wrote employees that the corporation would take the name International Business Machines Corporation.
The Wall Street Journal printed the change on 15 February 1924: International Business Machines Corp. had been incorporated under New York law to take over the business and assets of Computing-Tabulating-Recording Co.
IEEE Spectrum treats 14 February 1924 as the date the new name went onto the public record.
IBM's own history pages date the same rename to 1924 and keep the Endicott plants as the manufacturing home.
The mechanism is a holding-company rename that kept one listed book and changed the letters the floor shouted.
IBM Investor Relations later marked 8 May 2006 as the ninetieth anniversary of the original C-T-R listing on this exchange.
The pin is the Broad Street facade of the Exchange on the morning the letters changed.
Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
