People treat Intuitive Surgical as a Sunnyvale device house that always printed ISRG after a finished da Vinci book.
The June 2000 issuer was Intuitive Surgical, Inc., a Delaware company that had filed an S-1 earlier that spring proposing a Nasdaq National Market listing under those letters.
The company's 27 July 2000 earnings release records that in June 2000 it sold 5.0 million shares of common stock at 9.00 dollars a share in the initial public offering.
In July 2000 it sold another 750,000 shares at the same 9.00-dollar price when the underwriters took the over-allotment.
That is 45 million dollars in 2000 currency on the firm shares, and 6.75 million dollars more if the option is counted.
Market-data services date the first Nasdaq print to 13 June 2000.
The same July release dates FDA clearance of the da Vinci Surgical System for U.S. laparoscopic procedures to 11 July 2000, after the listing session.
Second-quarter 2000 sales were 5.1 million dollars in 2000 currency.
The mechanism is a robotic-surgery platform priced as public working capital before the U.S. laparoscopic label existed.
