People treat McCormick as a Hunt Valley spice house that always printed MKC after a finished New York book.
The 1999 issuer was McCormick and Company, Incorporated, a Maryland flavor company founded in 1889 whose non-voting common had traded on Nasdaq under MCCRK.
A company release dated 25 May 1999 said those non-voting shares began trading that session on this exchange under MKC.
The same notice said the listing application had been filed on 26 April 1999.
Voting common stayed off this tape for two more years and moved here under MKC on 14 September 2001, after a spell on the NASD bulletin board as MKCRJ.
The mechanism is a dual-class transfer listing: a Nasdaq non-voting book took a specialist tape, and the closely held voting book followed later.
The pin is the public Broad Street facade of the 1903 New York Stock Exchange building, the street marker for the tape that first printed MKC.
Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
