People treat GE Aerospace as a Cincinnati engine shop that always printed GE after a finished aviation book.
The April 2024 remaining issuer was still General Electric Company, then branded GE Aerospace.
Healthcare had already left on 4 January 2023 as GEHC.
On 2 April 2024 the energy book left as GE Vernova under the letters GEV.
The surviving company kept the letters GE on the New York Stock Exchange.
Holders kept their old GE shares.
Those shares were now a propulsion and services book, not a multi-industry book.
The two new names rang the opening bell together that morning.
The mechanism is a remaining-company rename after two spins, not a new listing.
The pin is the Broad Street facade of the Exchange on the morning the conglomerate tape ended.
Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
