Search visibility policy

Allowing external search means your published, public memory may appear in search engines, including its title, story, public location and images. Search engines choose whether and how to show it.

Your choice is separate from who can view a memory on Metablox. Private, friends-only and followers-only memories remain excluded. Community memories also require completed moderation.

The default for community authors is off. You can choose for each memory, or set a default for new memories in Search visibility settings. Changing the default does not change existing memories.

You can revoke permission at any time. Metablox then requests that search engines exclude the page and removes it from the sitemap. Search engines may take time to revisit the page and remove existing results or cached copies.

Operator-authored editorial histories and pilgrimage stories are included under the operator's explicit instruction. This does not grant permission for anyone else's memories. A recorded per-memory refusal is always respected.
