People treat Pentair as a Minnesota water-systems house that always printed PNR after a finished New York book.
The June 2014 issuer was Pentair plc, the Irish company that replaced Pentair Ltd. as the listed parent.
An SEC Form 10-Q for the period ended 28 June 2014 records that shareholders approved the reorganization on 20 May 2014 and that the transaction closed on 3 June 2014.
The same filing records that shares of Pentair plc began trading on the New York Stock Exchange on 3 June 2014 under PNR, the symbol the Swiss predecessor had used.
The original Minnesota firm, Pentair Industries, Inc., was incorporated in August 1966 and sold stock to the public in 1967.
The present tape is still PNR on the New York Stock Exchange.
The mechanism is a redomicile that left the letters unchanged. The listed parent moved from Switzerland to Ireland while the New York book kept printing PNR.
The pin is the public Broad Street facade of the Exchange, the present street marker for the tape that has printed PNR.
Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
