Biography|Bradley Horowitz — Moscone West, Where Photos Left Google+

In February 2008 Horowitz left Yahoo for Google.

TechCrunch dated the confirmation to 12 February.

He joined as a vice president of product for consumer applications.

Gmail, Docs, Calendar, Voice, Picasa, and Blogger sat in that stack.

On 1 March 2015 TechCrunch reported that he was now the lead for Google+ and for the Photos and Streams products.

Eleven weeks later the company put Photos on a stage.

Google I/O 2015 ran 28 and 29 May at Moscone Center West, on the Fourth and Howard edge of the Moscone complex.

On the first day the keynote launched Google Photos as a standalone service, split from Google+, with free high-quality storage up to 16 megapixels and 1080p.

The Verge, TechCrunch, and 9to5Google all timestamp the announcement to 28 May 2015.

Horowitz did not have to own the microphone for the hall to be the public pin.

He had been given the product that spring.

Moscone West is a civic convention building.

It is not a current workplace.

A visitor can stand on Howard Street and look at the same west hall that held I/O that week.
