Biography|Jeff Maggioncalda — The MBA He Finished Beside This Littlefield Arcade
kevin
The undergraduate Quad gets the postcard.
The degree that put him in the room with Financial Engines sits one block east of that arcade, at the Edmund W. Littlefield Management Center.
Coursera's later leadership page and the Financial Times both place the MBA in 1996.
Profile pages that bother with years put the return to campus in 1994, after three years as an analyst at Cornerstone Research.
Littlefield is the building that can be pinned.
Faculty offices moved here in 1988.
The 60,000-square-foot center, designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, faces the historic Quad from the east side of the old business-school cluster.
A visitor in 2026 still finds the sandstone arcade and the courtyard.
What they will not find is the current GSB.
In 2011 the school left this lot for the Knight Management Center at 655 Knight Way.
This pin stays on Littlefield because that is where the 1994-to-1996 classes sat.
Institutional Investor later recorded the hinge that followed the diploma.
Stanford law professor Joseph Grundfest had known Maggioncalda at Cornerstone.
In 1996 Grundfest, Nobel economist William Sharpe, and lawyer Craig Johnson hired the new MBA, then twenty-seven, as Financial Engines' first employee and chief executive.
The undergraduate English-and-economics degree is a separate pin on the Quad.
This one is the second Stanford paper, and the last classroom before the company.
