People treat the 2023 change at Lyon as another short-lived hire under John Textor.
The club put a date and a title on it.
On 17 November 2023 Olympique Lyonnais announced Laurent Prud'homme as directeur général, the chief executive who would take over daily running of the club from Santiago Cucci, then interim executive president, and from Thierry Sauvage.
L'Équipe and Le Parisien carried the same day.
He was 49.
The home ground since January 2016 is this stadium in Décines-Charpieu, opened as Parc Olympique Lyonnais and signed Groupama Stadium, a 59,186-seat bowl at 10 avenue Simone Veil.
The announcement was a paper act about the club that plays here, not a pitch-side ceremony.
The club statement said he would be the main contact with the LFP, UEFA, local officials and the French state.
He had spent the previous three years running Groupe L'Équipe and, before that, two decades around Eurosport and Discovery.
The tenure ended in the spring of 2025, when French sports desks reported he had been removed and replaced.
The stadium remains the public place attached to the job.
