On 24 September 2011 Apple opened its first store in Hong Kong at ifc mall, 8 Finance Street, Central.
Doors opened at 9 a.m.
Two floors. About 20,000 square feet. More than 300 staff. One of the largest Personal Setup floors in the chain.
Cook had been chief executive for one month. Jobs was still alive. He died eleven days later.
Nanjing East Road in Shanghai opened the day before.
The Apple Store app reached Hong Kong with this shop.
A visitor still comes through ifc to the glass stair over the harbour side.
