On 18 November 2018 Apple opened a store at 114 Avenue des Champs-Élysées.
Doors opened at noon.
Thousands queued on the avenue.
The Carrousel du Louvre shop had closed three weeks earlier, on 27 October.
This Haussmann corner, with its turret, became the new French flagship.
Foster + Partners turned the courtyard into a Forum with trees and an 8K wall.
More than 330 staff. Fifteen nationalities. Seventeen languages.
Cook was chief executive. He was not on the pavement in the company's opening pictures.
Angela Ahrendts still ran retail.
The building runs on renewable power and collects rain for the green walls.
A visitor still comes through the corner door on the avenue, three weeks' walk in time from the inverted pyramid.
