On 7 November 2009 Apple opened its first store in France at 99 rue de Rivoli, in the Carrousel du Louvre.
Doors opened at 10 a.m. under the inverted glass pyramid.
About 1,500 people were already in line. Organisers counted 4,000 by noon and expected 10,000 through the day.
Some had slept on the parvis in the rain.
The first 5,000 received a shirt.
Two levels, about 750 square metres, a glass spiral stair, 150 staff.
Ron Johnson opened it.
Jobs was not there.
Montpellier would open the following Saturday.
The shop closed on 27 October 2018.
The pin is the Carrousel address, not the museum rooms above.
A visitor now walks a mall corridor where the tables used to stand.
