Biography|Linda Yaccarino — She Walked Into 30 Rock to Run Cable and Digital Ad Sales

In October 2011 Linda Yaccarino left Turner Entertainment after fifteen years and walked into 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

Steve Burke, then chief executive of NBCUniversal, hired her as president of cable entertainment and digital advertising sales.

Comcast had just taken control of the company. The sales teams for USA, Bravo, Syfy, and the digital properties still worked as separate shops.

Her brief was to treat that portfolio as one market.

She replaced Dave Cassaro. Within a year, on 19 September 2012, Burke promoted her to president of advertising sales for the whole company, including the flagship NBC network.

She would spend twelve years in this tower. She finished as chairman of global advertising and partnerships, overseeing a department of more than 2,000 people and more than ten billion dollars a year in ad revenue.

She also helped take Peacock, NBCUniversal's streaming service, to market as an advertising product.

The building the public calls 30 Rock is still NBC's New York headquarters. A visitor standing on Rockefeller Plaza is looking at the same limestone stack she entered in 2011.

She resigned from that office on 12 May 2023, the same day she was named chief executive of Twitter.
