On 20 November 2004 Apple opened its first store in Europe at 235 Regent Street.
It was the company's 99th shop.
Doors opened at 10 a.m. after a cold night on the pavement.
More than 3,000 people were in line.
The first 2,500 through the door received a black shirt that said London.
Jobs had announced the date two days earlier.
He was not in the building.
Ron Johnson, head of retail, and John O'Grady, the store's manager, opened it instead.
Regent House is a Grade II stone facade from 1898 and 1922, gutted for two modern floors, a 14-metre Genius Bar, a 64-seat theatre and 136 staff who together spoke two dozen languages.
Steriogram played the next day.
The interior was rebuilt in 2006 and again in 2015–16.
The address did not move.
A visitor still comes through the same arches on the west side of Regent Street, between Princes Street and Hanover Street.
