Healer | Suamgol — The Hill Village That Already Knew the Camera

Suamgol hangs on the lower slope of Uamsan. After the war, refugees built the alleys. In 2007 a public-art project painted the walls. Cain and Abel, Baker King Kim Tak-goo, and Glory Jane had already used the lanes before Healer arrived.

Cheongju listed Suam Alley among the official Healer sites in November 2014. The production needed a hillside that looked lived-in, not dressed. The murals were already there. So were the roofs that step down toward the Musimcheon basin.

At the top of the last lane a lookout gives you the whole city in one turn. The drama's Cheongju is not a backlot version of Seoul. It is this specific hillside and the streets below it. You climb the same grade the crew climbed with dollies and lights.

Do not treat the houses as a set. People still live behind the paint. Take the mural map from the village entrance, walk quietly, and stop at the observatory. The city that hid a pirate radio story is the city you see from that rail.
