Healer | Seongan-gil — The Pedestrian Spine That Played the City

Seongan-gil runs where Cheongju's old fortress once had a north gate and a south gate. The name means the road inside the walls. Cars are kept off most of the 1.2 kilometres. Clothing shops, snack stalls, and a plaza fill the gap the walls left.

Healer used this street as the city's public face. City Hall told the press in November 2014 that Seongan Street would take multiple rounds of filming through early February, alongside Cheongnamdae and the tobacco plant. Jung-hoo and Young-shin needed ordinary pavement for the hours when the night work stopped and the reporting started.

The street does not perform. It just stays busy. Iron danggan at Cheongju's landmark flagpole sits a short walk away. Jungang Park opens off the same block. At night the shops throw light onto stone the way they did when the crew packed the sidewalks with extras and then packed them away.

Walk the pedestrian spine from Sajik-daero toward Cheongnamgyo. The drama needed a downtown that still belonged to the people who shop there. This one never stopped.
