Biography | Tan Su Shan — The Marina Boulevard Tower She Took as Group CEO

On 6 August 2024 DBS told the market that Tan Su Shan would become deputy chief executive at once and group chief executive when Piyush Gupta retired at the next annual general meeting.

The AGM date was 28 March 2025.

An SGX appointment announcement broadcast at 07:39 on 6 March 2025 fixed the same date: she would become executive director and group chief executive on 28 March 2025.

She was 57 in that filing.

Country of principal residence: Singapore.

The board said she would replace Gupta and that her background would complement the sitting directors.

She is the first woman to hold the DBS group chief executive title and the first appointed from inside the bank.

The pin is 12 Marina Boulevard, Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 3, the headquarters DBS inaugurated on 17 October 2012 as DBS Asia Central.

That is the public office block, not a home and not a private floorplate.

Gupta had run the group for about fifteen years.

In the August 2024 newsroom note the bank described her path after the 2010 arrival: three years on wealth, then consumer banking and wealth, then institutional banking, plus President Commissioner of PT Bank DBS Indonesia from 2014.

The same note called the appointment the end of a decade-long internal succession process.

Reuters, writing when the succession was first announced, recorded more than 35 years across consumer banking, wealth and institutional work, with earlier posts in London, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

The building on the bay is where the title changed hands.
