Someday or One Day | Fenghe High School Exterior — The Walls of Fengnan

The red-brick walls and gated entrance of a former private high school still stand in Liuying. In Someday or One Day this was Fengnan High School, the everyday campus where the three friends lived their 1998 lives of classrooms, rooftops and after-school runs.

The school is gone as an institution. It stopped enrolling in 2019, graduated its last students in 2021, and in February 2025 the Ministry of Education dissolved the school corporation and put it into liquidation. The walls, the gate and the surrounding streets remain visible from the public road, and that is the whole of what there is to see.

Which suits the scenes it carried. Fengnan High was never a set piece — it was the background against which a Möbius loop of a story kept its characters ordinary. Brick, a gate, a road.

One thing worth doing while you are here: the neighbouring campus 380 metres west, Min-Hwei Junior College, is the school the Tainan City Government's own filming release actually names for the drama's classroom and after-school scenes. From the road the two frontages read as one continuous school. That is why a single crew could shoot both, and why fan guides have been arguing about which is which ever since.
