J-CAST still counted Matsuyama in May 2016, among the regional airports that had not yet pulled their glass phones.
The name was Mata-ne Call. See you. The handsets sat on the glass between the domestic departure lobby and the boarding lounge.
A May 2008 photograph of that pane is what later facility logs still show. The same logs now file the booth under former sights, not current ones.
The present domestic terminal opened in 1991. The field itself began as a navy strip and faces Iyo-nada. Expansion work in the mid-2020s is moving roads, a control tower, and an international building. None of the current construction notes mention putting the phones back.
Other airports kept the analog pair. Matsuyama did not.
What remains is the glass and the habit of waving. The receiver is the part that left.
