Stairway to Heaven | Seokchon Lake — The Water the Outdoor Park Sits In

Lotte World's outdoor rides do not sit on a plaza. They sit on an island in Seokchon Lake.

Magic Island opened in 1990 in the west lake at Jamsil, linked to the indoor park by a bridge and a monorail. VisitKorea's Stairway to Heaven note says the outer rides were used for an adult date. Seoul location walks still send you out of Jamsil Station toward the lake path first, the water on one side and the castle silhouette on the other.

Seokchon Lake Park is municipal and free. Cherry trees take the bank in April. The lake was cut from the Han when Jamsil was filled, so the water is an artefact the city kept. You can walk the circuit without a park ticket and still see the island the cameras used.

The indoor carousel is the childhood. This water is the grown date: a lake the city already had, an island a department store dropped in the middle, and a path that still goes around both.
