City Hunter|Gwangjin Bridge 8th Street — Glass Over the Current

Gwangjin Bridge carries two lanes of traffic and a walkway. Under the eighth pier the city hung a glass room. Seoul's Hangang office opened it in August 2009 as a lookout, a small stage, and a proposal room. The floor in places is transparent. The Han runs immediately under your shoes.

That is the house they gave Lee Jin-pyo. The official city write-up is blunt about it. The luxury rooms in the drama were this observatory. When Jin-pyo and prosecutor Lee Young-joo fought on camera, the river under the glass did the work of a score. There are only a handful of pier-under lookouts like this on earth. Seoul built one and then let a revenge plot rent it.

It is free. Hours shrink in winter and the room closes Mondays and on the two big holidays. Bring water, not a picnic. Walk out onto Gwangjin Bridge first if the room is shut. The same current is still there. You just lose the floor that made it look like a private villa.
