People treat the eBay chief's job as a promotion from inside the marketplace.
The 13 April 2020 press release was dated San Jose and named a Walmart executive who had already worked on this campus.
eBay Inc. said its board had appointed Jamie Iannone as chief executive officer, effective 27 April 2020, and had elected him to the board.
Thomas Tierney, then chairman, put the appointment at the end of a search run with Spencer Stuart.
Scott Schenkel would remain interim chief until the 27th.
The release recorded the Walmart titles: COO of Walmart eCommerce, and before that CEO of SamsClub.com for the warehouse-club unit it then valued at 57 billion dollars.
It also recorded the first eBay stretch, 2001 to 2009.
Reuters and CNBC carried the same dates the same morning.
Devin Wenig had left in September 2019 after a fight with the board and pressure from Elliott Management and Starboard Value.
The headquarters line on the company's own contact page is still 2025 Hamilton Avenue.
The man the board hired already knew the numbered buildings on that street.
