People treat the NOOK years as a device story that starts with a tablet launch.
The New York paper that put him on the digital side is dated 23 June 2009, and it names this building.
Barnes and Noble announced that day that Jamie Iannone would be executive vice president, shopping, for Barnes and Noble.com and Barnes and Noble Digital.
He would report to William Lynch, then president of Barnes and Noble.com.
The company had kept its headquarters at 122 Fifth Avenue, between 17th and 18th Streets, since 1987.
Robert Maynicke designed the neo-Renaissance loft in 1899 and 1900 for the Ladies' Mile district.
The 2009 release recorded that he came from eBay as vice president of global search, after earlier buyer-experience work.
It also recorded a Princeton engineering degree, listed there as a Pyne Prize Scholar, and a Stanford Graduate School of Business MBA.
On 24 August 2010 Publishers Weekly reported a second title in the same offices: president of Barnes and Noble Digital Products.
That brief put him over NOOK devices, software, accessories, retail integration, e-books, and third-party partnerships.
The building later lost the bookseller's headquarters and was rebuilt for other tenants.
The digital job that sat here is what Walmart hired next.
