People treat his Walmart years as a Bentonville story.
The 2014 posting was written to sit here, at Walmart's Global eCommerce offices in San Bruno.
Chain Store Age reported on 10 January 2014 that Sam's Club had named the former Barnes and Noble digital president as president and CEO of SamsClub.com.
The same report said he would be based at the Global eCommerce organization in San Bruno and report to Neil Ashe, not to Sam's Club's Bentonville chief.
Retail Dive, three days later, repeated the San Bruno base and the shift of Sam's online work out of Arkansas.
Walmart's own October 2014 leadership page listed him as president and CEO of SamsClub.com, appointed in 2014.
The page put his earlier stops at Epinions.com, Microsoft, Booz Allen Hamilton, eight years at eBay, and Barnes and Noble digital products.
The San Bruno campus has long been listed at 850 Cherry Avenue.
eBay's 2020 CEO release later said that in the Sam's Club role he grew both the .com business and the membership base, and that his teams released Scan and Go, Ask Sam's, Sam's Club Now, and Club Pickup.
In late February 2020 Walmart named him chief operating officer of U.S. e-commerce.
Six weeks after that promotion, eBay called.
