Reply 1988 | Uijeongbu Arts Center — The Seconds Jung-hwan Did Not Have

The plaza in front of Uijeongbu Arts Center is a wide, ordinary civic forecourt. In episode 18 it is the distance between two people who have already run out of time.

Jung-hwan reaches the concert late. Taek is already standing where Deok-sun can see him. The Lee Seung-hwan night the neighborhood had talked about for weeks becomes the night the wrong boy arrives first. The building opened in 2001, which means the drama borrowed a later facade to hold a 1990s ache. Fans still walk the same steps because the architecture did not need to be period-correct. The lateness was the set.

Uijeongbu leased the old army lot in Nogyang-dong where the five houses were built, then took the lot back when filming ended. The Arts Center stayed. Remodeled and reopened in January 2024, it still faces the same plaza. You can stand on the paving and measure how few seconds a life can spare.

The ticket windows sell whatever is on that week. The scene does not need the original poster. It only needs the doors, and the knowledge that someone else already went inside.
