My Love from the Star | National Theater of Korea — The Last Kiss on the Namsan Plaza

27 February 2014. Twenty-one episodes end on the plaza outside the National Theater of Korea, on the eastern shoulder of Namsan, with a kiss that had been deferred across four hundred years of story time and three months of broadcast.

국립극장 stands at 장충단로 59 in Jung-gu. It is the country's national repertory house — founded in 1950, moved to this hillside site in 1973 — and it is home to the National Changgeuk Company, the National Dance Company and the National Orchestra. The Haeoreum Grand Theater is the big one; the plaza in front of it is outdoor, free, and open whether or not anything is playing.

A note on sourcing: Visit Seoul's page labels this "episode 19." The date it gives, 27 February 2014, is the finale, which was episode 21. Trust the date, not the number — the broadcast was pre-empted once for the Seollal holiday and the numbering in English-language sources never fully recovered.

It sits about a kilometre from the love-lock terrace on the summit, fifteen minutes downhill through the park. Walk it. Episode 16 to episode 21, the promise to the goodbye, the entire romance crossed on foot in a quarter of an hour, with the tower visible behind you most of the way.
