Biography|Elliott Hill — The Residence Hall TCU Put His Name On, Merida Avenue

On 23 April 2025 Texas Christian University dedicated three new buildings on the east side of campus: Gutierrez Hall, Hill Hall, and Walsh Hall.

TCU's own newsroom named Hill Hall for trustee Elliott Hill, class of 1986, and his wife, Gina Hill. The housing office lists the address as 2920 Merida Avenue, Fort Worth.

The dedication was public. Chancellor Victor J. Boschini Jr. spoke to a crowd the university put at about two hundred people. The halls were framed as first-year housing built for the next long stretch of the school's life, not as a private monument.

Hill was already on the Board of Trustees. TCU's dedication story dates that service to 2013. The same page records gifts to athletics, including the Amon G. Carter Stadium expansion and the Athletics Human Performance Center, and an endowed scholarship named for his mother, Jo Frances Hill.

This is not the classroom where he earned the kinesiology degree. That story sits a few hundred metres west, on the older academic ridge around Reed Hall and Sadler Hall.

Hill Hall is the afterlife of the reputation: a working residence, 292 beds across Hill and Walsh together, with the university's name on the map for students who will never meet the Nike chief executive.

A 2017 campus photograph cannot show a hall dedicated in 2025. What it can show is the same Fort Worth campus that produced the degree, the trustee, and now the building. The pin is the new hall's listed address, not the older quad.

The sequence is short to write down. Austin childhood. TCU in 1986. Ohio University. A Nike internship in 1988. Thirty-two years inside the company. A 2020 pause. The chief executive job in October 2024. Then a residence hall with his name on Merida Avenue the following spring.
