Biography|Elliott Hill — The Intern Came Back as President and CEO on This Campus

On 19 September 2024 the NIKE, Inc. board announced from Beaverton that Elliott Hill would become president and chief executive officer on 14 October 2024.

The same filing put him on the company's board and on its executive committee. John Donahoe would leave the chief executive role the day before.

The pin belongs on this campus because the company dated the announcement Beaverton, and because Hill's first working day back as CEO was spent here.

Complex reported that he addressed an all-hands meeting in the Tiger Woods building on the world headquarters grounds and that the meeting was broadcast to staff. OregonLive recorded the succession the day it was announced.

He was not an outside hire. Nike's own release said he had spent more than thirty-two years at the company, starting as an intern in 1988, and that before a 2020 retirement he had been president of Consumer and Marketplace for Nike and Jordan Brand.

The same release credited that commercial run with helping take the business above 39 billion dollars. He had left before Donahoe's appointment and came back after the board decided Donahoe would retire.

The campus itself is the Philip H. Knight Campus, still listed at One Bowerman Drive in unincorporated Washington County next to Beaverton. OpenStreetMap pins Bowerman Drive on the campus at about 45.507 north, 122.826 west. Nike dedicated the original headquarters here in October 1990, two years after Hill's first day.

A visitor cannot walk into the Tiger Woods building uninvited. The public fact is simpler. The man who started in a Memphis sales office in 1988 took the top job on this ground in October 2024, and the company put the announcement on the record in Beaverton.
