Amedeo Felisa was born in Milan on 1 October 1946.

The Italian Wikipedia entry cites the Gazzetta Ufficiale list of decorations of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic for that day and year.

He took a mechanical-engineering degree at the Politecnico di Milano, whose historic Leonardo campus still faces Piazza Leonardo da Vinci 32.

The main building on the square carries the 1863 founding date in the frieze.

The campus opened on this site in 1927 and remains the rectorate and the home of the engineering schools.

No published source recovered for this run gives the exact graduation year.

What two independent career summaries do agree on is the next move: in 1972 he joined Alfa Romeo's innovation and experimentation department.

That is the first year the degree is attested in paid work.
