だがしかし | 勝山海水浴場 — The Glico Run Reaches the Sand

In episode 4, a caramel becomes fuel. Kokonotsu and Hotaru run toward Café Endō while the familiar Glico athlete turns a cheap sweet into a joke about distance, stamina, and sheer stubbornness. Their route suddenly opens onto Katsuyama Beach, where the seawall, steps, and pale sweep of sand give the dash a horizon. The animation edits Takeoka and Kyonan into one compact hometown; in reality, the two districts are far enough apart that the gag becomes even better.

Walk to the southern end rather than trying to reproduce the run on local roads. This is a public beach, busy with families in swimming season, so keep people out of photographs unless they consent. From the steps, the curve of the shore is low and untheatrical. Then a wave folds over itself, the sand darkens by one shade, and the episode’s absurd sprint ends in the same small patch of coast.
