Master's Sun|Namsan Park — The Hill the Kingdom Hotel Sits On

Before you reach the hotel pool you walk a mountain that the city never quite paved over.

Namsan Park covers the ridge above Jangchung and Itaewon. The official park coordinates sit near 37.5510 north, 126.9903 east. Trails, stone walls, and the old city-fortress line take you past the slope where Banyan Tree Club and Spa Seoul — the building that played Kingdom's hotel — faces the trees instead of the Han. Master's Sun used that hillside twice: once as luxury backdrop, once as the ordinary green you see when a character finally looks away from a ghost.

The park is public from morning to night. You can enter from the Jangchungdan-ro side without a ticket and climb until the hotel roof sits below the canopy. N Seoul Tower is further along the ridge if you want the postcard. You do not need the postcard for this drama. You need the path, the smell of pine after rain, and the fact that a 2013 horror-comedy chose a real Seoul mountain instead of a painted cyclorama.

Stop on a landing where the traffic noise drops. Kingdom's hotel is still on the next terrace. The park does not care which series used it. It keeps the hill.
