People treat Carvana as a Tempe used-car platform that always printed a steady NYSE name.
The 2017 issuer was four years old and still losing money.
Carvana Co. priced 15,000,000 Class A shares at 15 dollars each on 27 April 2017, a 225 million dollar offering in 2017 currency.
Trading was set to begin the next morning on the New York Stock Exchange under CVNA.
The company's own pricing release recorded an underwriters' option for 2,250,000 more shares.
TechCrunch and Fortune both recorded the first close at 11.10 dollars, down 26 percent from the offer price.
Fortune added that the stock opened at 13.50 and traded as low as 10.70.
The S-1 had shown 365.1 million dollars of 2016 revenue and a 93.1 million dollar net loss in 2016 currency.
The mechanism is an Up-C listing of a Class A float over an LLC operating company, sold at the top of the indicated range.
New holders paid 15 dollars for a name that finished the session at 11.10.
The pin is the Broad Street facade of the Exchange, where CVNA first printed. Interior trading is not visitable from the sidewalk.
