100 Days My Prince | Korean Folk Village — The Thatched Street the Cameras Already Knew

Yongin's other Joseon street is older as a tourist site and just as useful to a camera.

Korean Folk Village opened in 1974 at 90 Minsokchon-ro in Giheung-gu. It is a reconstructed settlement of houses moved or rebuilt from across the peninsula: yangban compounds, commoner thatch, workshops, a market, a circular performance ground. The site has hosted so many sageuk productions that visitor guides list 100 Days My Prince beside Moon Embracing the Sun and Sungkyunkwan Scandal without needing a footnote.

The production used the village when Songjuhyeon needed more street than Naganeupseong could spare, and when a marketplace or a family courtyard had to look lived-in at scale. You pay at the gate and walk a loop. The houses are exhibits. The lanes are wide enough for extras and for the afternoon school groups that now fill the same frames.

Do not confuse this with the Suncheon fortress. Naganeupseong is a surviving county seat. The Folk Village is a curated encyclopedia of roofs. The series needed both: one place that still farms, one place that can dress a crowd.

Stand in the market alley when the performers are between shows. The wood smoke from the food stalls is real. The century is not. That is the contract the drama signed here, and it still holds.
