Wondae-ri Birch Forest sits at 760 Jajaknamusup-gil in Inje-eup, a Korea Forest Service stand of some 690,000 birches planted after pine-needle gall midges wrecked the old woods. Wikipedia lists it among the drama's locations. Episode crews walked the same gravel the Forest Service now times: summer entry until 15:00, winter until 14:00, Monday and Tuesday closed, no ticket.

You park below and climb. The white bark does the work the cameras wanted — a field of pale verticals that makes two dark coats readable from fifty meters. Snow is not required, but it is what the stills remember. The forest is public. The hike is the price of admission.
