Taki, Tsukasa, and Okudera step off the train carrying a hand-drawn landscape and almost nothing else. Hida-Furukawa Station is where their improvised search stops feeling like a weekend trip: the rural platform, rails, and mountains announce that the vanished town might once have belonged to this region.

The station has only the scale it needs. Trains arrive close to tiled roofs; winter snow gathers along the platform edge; the pedestrian bridge gives the familiar elevated view seen in the film. Outside, the roundabout is where questions replace certainty. That movement—from the overhead view to three travelers asking local people for help—is the scene’s quiet engine. Arrive by rail if you can. When the train pulls away and its sound thins into the valley, the empty track makes Taki’s impossible search feel briefly reasonable.
