Descendants of the Sun | Camp Greaves — Quonset Huts Two Kilometres from the Line

The Quonset huts still sit on the ridge as if a company had only stepped out for lunch. Paint peels. A bowling alley that once served the 2nd Infantry Division now holds a gallery. Two kilometres south of the Southern Limit Line, Camp Greaves is the closest ordinary visitors get to the Civilian Control Zone without a formal DMZ bus.

Descendants of the Sun used this returned American post as the home barracks of the Uruk dispatch. Captain Yoo Si-jin's unit walks these roads. The fight in the maintenance shop was staged in a building that had actually repaired trucks. VisitKorea sent fans here in 2016 while the series was still on air. The Ministry of National Defense handed the ground to Gyeonggi Province in 2022. By 2025 the camp ran as a history park reached by the Imjingak Peace Gondola, passport in hand, ticket window closing at four.

The address is 137 Jeoksipja-ro, Gunnae-myeon, Paju. Monday is dark. The iced Americano in the old auto shop is still the only drink on the board.

Walk the lane between the Quonset roofs after the gondola empties. The hills do not look like a fictional country. They look like a post that waited fifty years and then let a drama borrow the silence.
