Biography|Eno Polo — Elected Kenya's Voice on the ATP Board

On 23 November 2020 the ATP Player Council elected Eno Polo to the tour's board.

The term as Player Representative for the International Region began on 1 January 2021.

He succeeded David Egdes on a seven-person board: three player seats, three tournament seats, and the chairman, Andrea Gaudenzi.

The Kenyan press treated the vote as a national story. The Star and the Daily Nation both led on the Davis Cup years and on Strathmore and Trinity, then noted the fourteen years at Nike and the later stops at Juventus, Havaianas, Global Brands Group, and the Beckham joint venture Seven Global.

Polo was 53. His playing file was modest. What the council wanted was someone who had been on court for Kenya and then spent a career selling sport.

The ATP's London office, the address later printed on the UK establishment and on the tour's own offices page, is 22 Worple Road in Wimbledon, SW19 4DD.

That is a public headquarters, not a private house, and it is the pin for the job he was elected to do from 2021.

The photograph is the Wimbledon end of Worple Road, where the department store Elys still faces the street that holds the office, not the office door itself.

The board seat is the hinge in the life. Without it the 2025 chief-executive appointment would have been an outsider hire. With it, the tour could say he already knew the arguments between players and tournaments.

He kept the seat while running other businesses, including a stretch as chief executive of LeDap and then of Premier Padel.

The 2020 election did not make him famous. It put a former Kenyan Davis Cup player in the room where the ATP decides how the men's tour is run.
