Sten Olof Kjellström sat his leaving examination in Örebro.

He was born in that town on 30 August 1863.

His father, Adolf Vilhelm Kjellström, taught building construction at the same school.

The technical elementary school had opened in 1857, the third of its kind in Sweden.

From 1861 its classrooms, workshop, library and museum occupied the east side of the new neo-Gothic town hall on Stortorget.

The west side held the municipal offices.

Olof left with his certificate in 1881.

The school was still in this building.

The limestone pile later called Rudbecksskolan was not begun until 1896 and not opened until 1901.

His father later shaped that later building's stone face.

The 1881 diploma was earned here, under the same roof as the magistrates.

He went south the same year, to the brickworks at Lomma.

The town hall still faces the square.

Around 1900 the old drawing hall became the council chamber the municipality still uses.
