Avenue France is not Paris. It is a street-style shopping block that Hoban built in Dongpangyo, at 25 Dongpangyo-ro 177beon-gil, and opened to a new town that needed somewhere to walk after office hours. The facades are pale. The planters are regular. From some angles the street reads like the indoor concourse of a department store that forgot to put a roof on.

Yang Ho-rang works the steakhouse inside this block. Butcher's Cut is still on the directory. The drama used the outdoor lanes for the parts of her life that were not the kitchen: the walk to a shift, the pause between tables, the expensive ordinary of Pangyo money.

Pangyo Station exit 1 is a short walk. The complex keeps shop hours, roughly eleven to ten. You come for the same reason the camera did. The new town needed a street that looked finished. The drama needed a place where a young woman could earn rent in a room that still smelled of butter and fire.
