People treat a three-decade Intel career as something that starts in Santa Clara.

Hers started in Hillsboro.

Michelle Johnston Holthaus joined Intel in 1996 as a program manager in this city, a year after the Linfield finance degree.

The company already ran more than one site in Washington County.

Jones Farm, at 2111 NE 25th Avenue, was the office campus.

Aloha and the new Ronler Acres ground held the fabrication plants.

The published record names Hillsboro, not a single building.

This pin is the Jones Farm gate because that is the campus a visitor can still walk up to.

From Hillsboro she moved through product marketing for OEM platform solutions, desktop boards, and the boxed channel business.

As general manager of the Reseller Product Group she led the boxed desktop and server line through a record sales year in 2004, the college paper later recorded.

By 2009 she was general manager of the Channel Platforms and Strategy Division, still on the Oregon side of the company.

The pin is not a private desk and not the later Santa Clara headquarters.

Intel still occupies Jones Farm.

The visitor at the gate on NE 25th Avenue is looking at the first city that put her inside the company she would later help run.
