Swedish Wikipedia dates his Skanska chief-executive years 1998 to 2002.

The company's own leadership list, and the California proxy statements he later signed, date the start to 1997.

Both agree he left in 2002.

He succeeded Melker Schörling and was followed by Stuart Graham, the American who had run the US civil business.

The parent company then sat at Hagaporten, Råsundavägen 2, in Solna, just off the E4 at Haga Norra.

Hagahuset, the 1950s county-council tower at Råsundavägen 1, still marks the same corner.

Skanska did not move to Entré Lindhagen on Kungsholmen until February 2014, twelve years after Björck retired.

The job he was given was to run a contractor that had spent the 1990s buying its way across Europe and the United States.

He had already spent about 27 years in the American subsidiary.

From the mid-1980s he had been president of Skanska USA while also serving as a senior vice president of the parent.

The Solna years were the return.

In June 2002 Dagens Nyheter treated the succession as a sign of strain inside the group.

Graham took the chair.

The building at Råsundavägen 2 is no longer the group headquarters.

The corner at Haga Norra is still the place to stand if you want the address that sat on the letterhead of those years.
