Biography|Anna Tumadóttir — The Lisbon Institute Where Open Heritage Went on the Wall
kevin
People treat a new chief executive's first year as a press release and a headquarters tour.
Hers included a two-day workshop in a Lisbon cultural institute.
In May 2024, about fifty people from every continent met at the Goethe-Institut on Campo dos Mártires da Pátria.
Creative Commons had hosted an earlier open-culture roundtable in the same city the year before.
This second gathering was billed as a strategic workshop toward a UNESCO instrument on open cultural heritage.
The house is Valmor Palace, the German cultural institute's Lisbon seat at number 37.
A June 2024 CC blog names the facilitators, the keynote from Véronique Guèvremont, and the group photograph taken in the garden.
Commons files from the meeting show Anna Tumadóttir in the working room, standing in front of sheets marked with the CC logo, talking through notes on public domain, WIPO, and a possible recommendation.
The Board had named her CEO the month before, on 10 April 2024.
She had already been interim chief since Catherine Stihler's departure at the turn of the year.
The Lisbon workshop is the first well-photographed working session of that new title, not a ribbon cutting.
A visitor today finds the institute still running language classes and a garden café in Arroios.
The pin is Campo dos Mártires da Pátria 37, at 38.72118 north, 9.14101 west, from OpenStreetMap.
