Biography | Carla Jeffery — The Dockside Campus That Played Seabrook High

People remember Bree as a cheerleader in a made-up American town.

The school behind her was a health-sciences campus on Toronto's waterfront.

Carla Jaran Jeffery was born in Houston on 10 July 1993.

She followed her twin brother, Carlon, into acting after the family moved to California, and by twelve she was already on a talent roster that would keep her for more than twenty years.

Her first film part came in 2006, as the ten-year-old version of Mo'Nique's Jazmin in Phat Girlz.

A recurring turn as Keysha Black on HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm followed in 2007.

A decade of guest work on Nickelodeon and Disney Channel shows came next.

Then, in May 2017, Disney Channel began production on Zombies, a musical set at fictional Seabrook High.

Deadline named Jeffery in the original cast as Addison's friend Bree.

Paul Hoen directed the finished film.

The shoot ran about ten weeks in and around Toronto.

IMDb lists this building — George Brown College's Waterfront Campus at 51 Dockside Drive — as the exterior of Seabrook High.

The campus opened in 2012 as the college's Centre for Health Sciences, south of Queens Quay between Jarvis and Parliament.

For a few weeks it wore pep-rally paint and stood in for a town that does not exist.

Jeffery's Bree was the bright friend in the cheer squad, not the lead, and that was the point of the part.

She sang on the first film's soundtrack tracks Fired Up, Our Year, and Pep Rally.

The movie premiered on Disney Channel on 16 February 2018 and drew 2.57 million viewers that night.

She came back as Bree in Zombies 2 in 2020 and Zombies 3 in 2022, and later voiced the same character on Zombies: The Re-Animated Series.

The building is still a working campus.

A visitor finds students and the lake, not a soundstage.

Jeffery died on 1 September 2026, at thirty-three.

Her agency confirmed the date and did not publish a place or a cause.
