薫る花は凛と咲く | サンリキ — The Street Before Their Answer

Rintaro and Kaoruko meet again after the confession that escaped beside the sea. This time they have made a plan: walk to the summer festival together and finish the conversation without running from it. Episode 13 places part of that final evening on the familiar commercial streets of Jiyūgaoka, including the frontage by Sanriki, returning the story to the everyday city where so many of their hesitant meetings began.

The storefront is not the festival and it is not the confession site. It matters because it is the walk before both—the interval in which two teenagers know the night will change their relationship but still have to cross an ordinary street, match each other’s pace, and find the first sentence. By the finale, the neighborhood has not transformed; they have. Stand across from Sanriki after sunset and watch pedestrians pass the same façade without slowing down. For Rintaro and Kaoruko, this ordinary stretch of pavement now belongs to a day they will never forget.
